Hi, my name is Margaret.
Welcome to my webpage. I do hope you like what you find here.
I have been doing sewing, knitting and crochet for a good many years.
I learnt to knit at four years old and use to sew on bits of scrap fabric to my dolls.
My Mother allowed me to use her sewing machine, but with the power turned off, as she thought I might get a little carried away. I made my school blouses and very short mini skirts (which I was not allowed to wear to school).
Mother later taught me to crochet when I was 15, in the age of the Granny square '70! I have found out in recent years there is soooo much more.
And I have been creating ever since, as well as teaching my own two lovely daughters. Please look at what Kerrie makes on her website Charm and Laundry.
Over the years I have had my own soft furnishing business, learnt upholstery and chair caning as a hobby (also taken comissions). Then realize I had an awful lot of leftover and scrap fabric and trimmings, as well as a passion for buttons and ribbbons. Shake them all together and what have we..... Lots of lovely bits and pieces to make lots of lovely things with. So I began to make handbags, then bigger bags, then purses, makeup bags, the list just goes on and on. A bit like me!
Then came patchwork...... again a great way to use up even smaller pieces of scrap fabric, sorry precious fabric.
Patchwork cushions and quilts Mmmmmm.
I love to appliqu`e on anything! Using ribbons and bits of fabric and buttons and......lots more.
So during the days I make or teach others to make something special and in the evening I knit or crochet.
I just love it.
I hope I can inspire lots of you to buy or make something special too.
